The vacation rental kitchen is part of the large living area and is stocked with the basic necessities. Although, should you crave a Starbuck's coffee, it's not far. On the south side of I-80, 1/2 a mile away to the east is a shopping center with a Albertson's food market, Starbucks, health club and a Blockbuster. On the north side is a gas station and snack food place, to the west along I-80 is a nice breakfast/lunch restaurant ("No Worries Cafe"). 4-5 miles east along I-80 at Kimball Junction are four shopping centers, a Tangers Outlet Center, two food markets (including a "Wild Oats"), a movie theater, a community indoor track and exercise center, a post office, several restaurants and many specialty shops.

After the snow has gone there is a wonderfull 2-3 mile trail up the canyon along a scenic stream to a ridge it shares with another canyon.
