Kailua Kona Kanaloa at Kona
Perched atop an outcropping of lava rock overlooking Keauhou Bay, 18 acres of lush tropical foliage and manicured lawns, the Kanaloa at Kona resort provides a beautiful, tropical setting for a perfect vacation. With fragrant gentle evenings and breathtaking ocean views, this 2 bedroom condo is on the second floor and probably one of the most private condos on the premises.
***** 5 out of 5 Stars! Kailua Kona and the Big Island is a fantastic spot in the world. We found the condo to be clean, roomy and well appointed. It had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. The Resort itself was beautiful, quiet and the employees there were helpful and friendly. It is located conveniently close to grocery shopping, dining, golfing and snorkeling. The swimming pool by the ocean was a fantastic spot to sit and relax or cool off with a dip. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax this is the place for you.

This condo is spacious and well maintained. One big bedroom, one smaller with twin beds. The livingroom/dining room area is very large with vaulted ceilings, a pleasant place to relax. The location is especially fine--four minutes' drive to the best beach on the island for beginners and intermediate snorkelers, three minutes to a large shopping center, three minutes to boat tours for whale watching and snorkeling, ten minutes to galleries and outdoor market. The condo complex is quiet and well run, with tennis courts and three pools. The shore, a few minutes' walk from the condo, is black lava; you can walk the path above the water and watch the waves crash. People gather at the shore each night and applaud the sunsets. The air temperature is consistently around 82 in winter; in warmer months the condo has air conditioning. A very good value.

We've been fortunate to stay at Kanaloa many times over the years and specifically in the Rothstein's condo. We can't say enough good things about Kanaloa or the condo. The condo is perfectly located overlooking the golf course, with a fantastic wide lanai and wet bar. The interior is more than adequate for a family of four (or larger) and while it's on the second floor, we've never needed air conditioning in Dec/Jan as there is usually a lovely breeze blowing through. Our two kids, who were quite young when we first stayed here, are now in their mid and late teens. They love Kanaloa. The complex is rarely busy and never loud. They often have one of the three pools on the property to themselves! They love the freedom that the spacious grounds offer and we've always felt safe and secure there. I personally enjoy the fact there there is new, clean BBQ conveniently located in pool area as we often cook our dinners there and either eat pool-side or simply take it back "home" and enjoy our dinner on the lanai. My wife is an avid walker and she enjoys her morning walk around the neighborhood and surrounding area, again, always feeling perfectly safe and secure. The Rothstein's are always very prompt in their replies to any inquiries we've and have been very accommodating with our many requests over the years. They are wonderful hosts and we look forward to our annual visit to their lovely Hawaiian home.

The beautiful condo stays in quiet and secured gated community. The location is excellent. It is perfect for family's vacation! We have everything we need when we are away from home. The condo is closed to shopping centers, post office, beaches and other local attractions. Snorkeling at Keauhou beach is highly recommended for all beginers and kids with good reef and easy access. If we are back to Kona, we absolutely will stay here again!

Mes Amies and I have been going to Kona for over 20 years staying in my mother's guest cottage. This was our first time in a condo and the comfort of this unit made the transition fairly easy. The four of us enjoyed the quiet surroundings and the spaciousness of the living area and lanai. Also, with all of us in the kitchen preparing meals we had plenty of room to work. We would return to this unit again next year depending on availability and rates.

Kona Coffee Has Royal Ties? How did this ornamental tree imported into Honolulu in about 1813 by Kamehameha the Great's Spanish interpreter and physician Don Francisco de Paula y Marin become Kona's economic mainstay? Kona Coffee Has Royal Ties The first written mention of coffee in Kona was noted in 1840. Coffee was planted in several locations around the Big Island but was best suited to the Kona district. A few coffee fields are now in production outside Kona, but the vast majority of coffee is grown right here.
