The Roberts Surf Rental
Playa Grande is not only a world class surfing destination it is also a major nesting area for Leatherback Turtles (“baula” in Spanish) which grow up to 7 feet long and weigh up to 1650 pounds.
The vacation rental is located in a secluded part of a quiet multi-national neighborhood (mostly North Americans and Europeans) which is surrounded by Parque Nacional Marino Las Baulas. This national park preserves and protects a large variety of tropical wildlife along the beach and a large inland estuary.
The turtle egg-laying season is from October 1 to March 1 and during that time the national park service gives nightly tours from its headquarters near the Las Tortugas Hotel allowing people to see these endangered 100 million year-old creatures lay 100 or more eggs. It is an unforgettable experience!
Playa Grande Rental in Costa Rica
The Roberts Surf Rental is a beautiful 1.5 mile walk down the beach to Tamarindo, which is an increasingly popular tourist destination with many hotels, restaurants, shops and amenities; a short water taxi ride for one dollar will be necessary to get across the estuary between Playa Grande and Tamarindo.
The estuary provides a natural barrier between busy Tamarindo and peaceful Playa Grande, which is much less crowded and has far more natural beauty.
The Palm Beach Estates neighborhood has three excellent restaurants and a surprisingly well-stocked market within a couple of minutes walk from the vacation rental and there are several more restaurants further down the beach in Playa Grande. The Playa Grande side of the estuary is a perfect place for a relaxing outdoor family vacation.

Dog-Friendly Beach Retreat
The lower level features a TV and DVD/CD player with patio access to the 6-person Jacuzzi. There is also air conditioning, ceiling fans, a phone, and high speed wireless internet. The downstairs also includes a half bath and a laundry room with washer and dryer.
Costa Rica is a dog-friendly place and are always welcome on the beach and in restaurants. Ask about our pet-friendly policy.

Great for Active Famlies
From the loft overlooking the living room are vaulted teak ceilings extending to the backyard patio. The open floor plan is great for families and for those who like to play hard and then relax. Available for our renters: 4 bicycles, 9 surfboards, 3 body boards and lots of other sports equipment.
After an active day, climb into the hot tub for a relaxing soak and from there into the oversized living room chairs; turn on the A/C and your watch favorite TV show.
Self-Catering Rental is Fully-Equipped
This newer vacation rental home built in 2008 features a fully appointed kitchen with a wrap-around granite bar, including a cook top stove with oven, built-in microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal and a generous side-by-side refrigerator with water and ice maker.
All cookware, dishes, glassware and utensils included.

This beautiful vacation rental has a master suite with a walk-in closet and a master bath with laid-in rock shower and granite counter tops. Each bedroom has its own cable TV, and the master bedroom also has a DVD player.
The upper level also includes the two guest bedrooms with an adjacent shared full bathroom. Three queen size beds accommodate 6 guests.
